We are proud to share a defining moment in Onstro’s journey.
Our Co-Founder and CEO, Bhavit Naik, was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) by D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University, Kolhapur, at its Convocation Ceremony held on January 19, 2026.
This honour recognises a journey that mirrors Onstro’s own – one rooted in curiosity, long-term thinking, and the belief that meaningful institutions are built patiently.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sanjay Patil, Chancellor of the University, and was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman of Kirloskar Brothers Limited.
Other dignitaries present included Shri Ruturaj Patil, Trustee of D. Y. Patil Education Society; Mrs. Pooja Patil, Trustee; Prof. Dr. Anilkumar Gupta, Vice Chancellor; Shri Vilas Shinde, Chairman & Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms; Prof. Jayendra Khot, Registrar; Shri Pankaj Mehta and Shri Rahul Sutar, Government-nominated members of the Governing Body.
During the ceremony, a short film reflected Bhavit’s journey – one that many of us at Onstro recognise closely. It traced a path shaped by learning across disciplines, curiosity, and a long-term commitment to building technology with purpose.
The citation for the Honorary Doctorate was read by Dr. Sangram Patil, Member of the Board of Management, following which the degree was formally conferred by Dr. Sanjay Patil, Chancellor of the University. The degree and memento were presented on stage in the presence of the distinguished guests.
In his acceptance speech, Bhavit spoke about a journey shaped by varied experiences – across technology, design, construction, hospitality, and enterprise software – describing it as a “spiral of learning”. It’s a philosophy that has also guided how we’ve built Onstro over the years. Speaking to students, Bhavit emphasised that growth does not have to be linear, and that experiences across disciplines often come together in unexpected ways over time.
The ceremony also recognised Shri Vilas Shinde, Chairman & Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms, who was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) for his contributions to agribusiness and farmer-led enterprises. In his address, Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Kirloskar reflected on entrepreneurship, leadership, and long-term institution building, while formally acknowledging Bhavit by his doctoral title.
The evening concluded with a gathering at the University Guest House lawns, followed by a cultural performance – bringing the ceremony to a thoughtful and reflective close.

The honorary doctorate conferred on Bhavit Naik is a moment of pride for the entire Onstro team.
